Ruby grew up in northern New Jersey and currently maintains her home base in Connecticut while covering New England and beyond. She studied at the University of Pennsylvania and the New England School of Photography where she graduated with Portfolio Honors, Honors in Photojournalism and a minor in Editorial. Her work has appeared in the New York Times, Boston Globe, Wall Street Journal, Photo District News, Investment News, Harvard Magazine, Nature Magazine, and The Next American City.

When she isn't behind a camera, she enjoys tickling the ivories, rock climbing, snowboarding, and swing dancing with her husband.
